100% Homegrown

February 1, 2011

How do you describe your business?  your products?  your destination?  The way you communicate is so important in selling it to others!

For example, a farm market has a lot to sell to it’s customers.  Lots of produce and products, and quite possibly the experience of shopping there.  So — how would you describe the produce for sale?

  • Today’s harvest is….
  • Vine ripe tomatoes
  • Crisp Apples
  • Wholesome fruit
  • Strawberries with natural sugars

…and my favorite is 100% Homegrown!  As noted in my picture.

Since I’m on the topic of farms – let’s talk about selling a visit to a farm destination.  Whether selling farm tours, or visiting the farm to pick fresh produce it’s all in how you describe it.  Using adjectives are key.  Words such as rugged, country, picturesque, leisurely etc.

Invite folks to come and experience the

  • Authentic working farm
  • Serene setting
  • Gently rolling hay fields
  • Crisp country air

You’re goal is to help customers see, smell, taste what you have to offer from a distance, and make them want to come to your place of business.  So think about how you describe what you are selling.  It will make a difference in the perception of your business and/or products.  If you need some help improving communication with your customers, that’s why we at Season’s Peak are here!  Contact us and we’ll gladly help you.
